Southern California meets South Brooklyn
Introducing the official Conan O’Brien Tumblr 2.0
Working at Team Coco Digital, I helped launch Conan’s Tumblr to coincide with the debut of his new TBS show. Now I live 3,000 miles away in New York, but still keep in touch with the crew back in Burbank. Recently, when they rolled out a rad redesign of teamcoco.com, I thought it’d be fun to build an all-new theme from scratch as a weekend project.
The site is now live and I’m very proud of a few features that most users will probably never notice: retina optimization, a custom responsive framework, a JQuery post viewer I hacked together, and the best damned Open Graph implementation I’ve ever seen on a Tumblr theme.

Moving to New York, my primary recollection of culture shock occurred walking in and out the local businesses in Brooklyn. I quickly noticed that many of the delis, markets, and bakeries had cats, and it wasn’t a fluke.
Exploring the city over the past year, we ran into cats in any type of store you can imagine, each of which seemed well cared for and happy.
Naturally, Bonnie and I took photos when it wasn’t too embarrassing. NYC Deli Cats is a blog I built to celebrate those animals. We’ll be posting new cats as we come across them in the ‘wild.’
Enjoy.
